Check Printing Manual Tray Issue

(0) ShareShare
ReportReport
Posted on by 382

I have always printed checks from the manual tray. Once I hit 'print' the printer light will flash until I put the checks in the tray and then it begins to print. All of sudden one day it changed and just starts pulling from the bottom tray (which has plain paper). I can't seem to fix it. Any suggestions?

Assuming the tray preference is correct in the printer settings, I am going to go with the printer manual feed being worn out or dirty.

You can test it by attempting to print out of the manual tray with Word. If that works then we might have to take a deeper look at SL.

It prints properly from every application except Solomon. Thank you for the suggestion though. I did in fact have the rollers changed also.

Ok good ... did you double check this dialog to see if the manual tray was selected?

Yes, the manual tray is selected.

What happens when you go to the printer in Windows "Devices and Printers" and set it to the manual tray there and then in SL's printer options you set it to "Use Windows Default Printer?"

Well, that did work. However, I only utilize the manual tray during check printing. All other reports are run through the automatic tray. I would have to keep going back and forth to change the settings. I didn't have to do that before so something has changed along the way. I appreciate your suggestions, keep them coming!

    Hi Diane,

I am wondering if there was an update to the printer driver. Are you able to go out to the manufacture's website and see if there is a different printer driver?

Also look at the settings on the printer itself (if there is a way to change the setting directly on the printer). Some models of printers with have a panel that you are able to cycle through different options.
