Voiding Checks and AP invoices in two different GP instances

We went through a sale and created a new GP instance(company) to move forward with activity day after the sale. As a result we loaded opening AP and checks. We are now at a point where we need to void a check/invoice that is in the previous company so that we can re-issue in the new company. Any suggestions on the cleanest way to do this?

RE: Voiding Checks and AP invoices in two different GP instances

    Hi,

If you actually entered it as an outstanding check, then you would just void it in Bank Transaction Entry. If the check, when voided wants to hit an expense account, you must have initially entered it and put the other side to P&L. However, if the invoice the check pays is an assumed liability, then you need to hit the account that was debited when you entered this outstanding check. So the big question is, how did you enter the outstanding check?
