MR connection after someone changed domain user account for services

I was asked to move MR from one server to another as part of a GP upgrade project. When I first checked out the servers MR was running using the NT Service account. I then went off and performed the GP upgrade and then turned my attention to MR. When I fired up the configuration console I noticed that account used to start MR had changed to a domain user account. At this point no one can log into MR because of they all get a message about unable to establish connection to the server. So I switched the user account back to NT Service but the problem remains. When I check the deployment log it say it is trying to use servername:4712. In this case they are using SQL Express 2008 so there is a instance name so it should be servername/instance:4712. All I need is for MR to be up long enough to export the building blocks and then import them on the new server. Has anyone else experienced this and how did you fix it?

When you start the MR Configuration Console, are both MR services running? If not, I recommend removing the integration, removing the services, and then re-deploying both. If they are running, that should be all you need to get into Report Designer to export the reports. The connection error when starting Report Designer has lots of potential causes. The connection string is for an MR service, the instance name does not belong there. For example, if my server is called GPServer and my SQL instance is GPServer\GP, my MR connection string would be http://GPServer:4712/. Here is a KB we have to troubleshoot connection issues:
