Hi,

Im not too tech savy so would appreciate if the anwear is in a "beginner level". Im trying to set up the SMTP Mail Setup settings for a customer in NAV 2017. When I try to send as myself, to myself the test goes through. But when I try to send to another mail I get the following error. I have tried to enter another User ID with the same result. Any idea on how I can proceed? Many thanks.

This is probably more of a SMTP or Office365 question.

It seems you are trying to send FROM an address that is not associated with the used Office365 login. That is not allowed in Office365.

You need to use a SMTP FROM address that is either the address of the used Office365 login or the Office365 login should have Send-On-Behalf rights assigned for the used SMTP FROM address.

Thank you for the answear much appriciated. As you say it most probably something related to customers Office365. This a little bit out of scope of Dynamics NAV. Do you have any directions on where to associate the FROM with Office365 login or Send-On-Behalf rights?

No, unfortunately I don't have admin access to an Office365 right now, but you can easily Google it.

I.e.: docs.microsoft.com/.../give-mailbox-permissions-to-another-user - see "Send email from another user's mailbox" or "Send email on behalf of another user". I guess it is one of those...
