On Hand Inventory - Warehouse with no location

(0) ShareShare

Hi all, I have an item, where if I look at the inventory, the InventSum table shows an on-hand count of 2. However, this item is against a warehouse that has a blank location against it. I cannot do a profit/loss, transfer, or movement on the item. Can I just delete that record from the InventSum table (either in the database or in X++)? Is there any other way to get rid of it. This item has had no transactions against it since 2011, so deleting it would be an option.

Many thanks,

Typhoon

In an environment which is a copy of Live, try running the On-hand consistency checker (as described at the bottom of this post):

You should be able to run a recalc of the InventSum if you are sure that there are no InventTrans lurking.

Thank you for your answers Fredrik and Guy! I ran a recalc of the InventSum, and also ran the consistency checker, and I still have an on-hand entry of two items with a warehouse, but no warehouse location.

Could I set InventDim.WMSLocationID to the Warehouse Location "A" in SQL? Or would break links in other tables?

I would not recommend hacking that in SQL. That InventDim could be use by any number of other entities.

Can you post a screenshot of the Storage Dimension Group settings for these two items?

Hi Crispin, I created a new counting journal for that item. In the Lines, I chose the Item, the warehouse (SHP), and I left the location blank. On-hand was showing as 2. I set the counted field to zero, and Axapta automatically set the quantity to -2.

When I tried to post it, it told me "2.00 cannot be picked because only 0.00 is/are available from the inventory", but it told me that against warehouse SHP, location A.

I'm trying to remove the quantity from warehouse SHP, location (blank).

    What do you think?

Hi Guy, are these the settings that you are referring to?

We only use Warehouse and Location currently for all our items.

Hi Guy, also, I wanted to clarify that it is a quantity of two for one single item, it is not for two different items.

Thanks to you and Crispen and Fredrik for all your help in this!

No, sorry. I missed that you were on AX 2009. Can I get a screenshot of the 'Dimension group' that the item has. Thanks :-)
