AX 2012 Production Scheduling: Run time * qty

Can we some configure Route Times so the system ignores Quantity value while running schedule calculation?

When it takes same number of hours whether the quantity is 1 or 100, how do we configure the Route Run Time?

Initially I set Run Time to 1 hour and process qty to 1, then running the schedule of a production with 10 qty, it gives me 10 hours of estimate time. But in the actual business process, it's still takes jut one hour.

Then I set Run Time to 1 hour and process qty to 100, then, then running the schedule of a production with 10 qty, it gives me 1/10 hour of estimate time...it should be one hour.

I would like to set Run Time to 1 hour for this operation regardless of the qty value.

Is there any way to solve this business problem?

Could you share with me if you have any idea?

Best Regards,

Ken

    You can get around this if you use only Setup time instead of Process time.

    Setup time is used only once for each production order no matter the quantity.

    It is not possible to define a route that would completely ignore produced quantity during scheduling. However, if you can define a maximum quantity per production order, you can use the Batch formula. Then, for all production orders with quantity equal or less than your maximum quantity, the system will always schedule the same number of hours for this operation.

    To do so, set up your route operation like this:

    Formula = Batch

    Run time = {Fixed time for your operation}

    Process qty. = {Maximum production order quantity}
