Vendor Maintenance Screen unable to show all info

Posted on by 525

When using the Vendor Maintenance screen (03.270.00), under the Documents tab, when selecting "All Documents" from the Detail Viewing Option drop down list, only the first 390 documents are displayed.

This might not be such a huge problem, execpt it is showing the 390 oldest documents -- not the most recent.

Therefore we are being prevented from being able to use this screen to find what we are looking for when seaching for invoices and checks for many of our vendors.

Surely Dynamics SL 7 (SP3) can display more than 390 records, or there should be a "next" page button when a large number of records are returned.

Is there anyway around this limitation? This is causing a real problem for us.

Thanks!

    Thanks Chris.

The problem ended up being an unknown customization that was saved to this screen -- a long time ago -- that resized the screen too short, so the "page" buttons were not visible.

After deleting the customization the screen now works properly and I can see those great buttons that have been missing for litterally 7 years!

Wow -- what a difference they make!

Oooh!  Changing SL stored procedures is REALLY "dangerous"... not only can it cause weird side effects that the support staff can't help with, but when you upgrade, you can miss those changes, and have to go through issues that cause users to not "trust" the upgrade!

Unless you document VERY WELL the changes (Documentation?  Programmers?  What's that???)

The other option is to sort newest to oldest.  I believe that is based on the BuildWrkAPDoc stored proc.  Change the select statements (4) order by clause to "ORDER BY invcdate desc,BatNbr, RefNbr" by adding the DESC you will have the newest at the top.  You may also want to change "APDoc_APAdjust_Ref" proc the same way as your users will want that next.

    Hi Richard,

There should be a next page button directly button the grid saying Page 1 of however many pages. If you do not see these buttons, I would recommend going into Standard mode to see if the buttons now appear. If so, then there is probably an issue with the screen customization for that screen.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks,
