We are trying to install a service pack on the server for GP 10.00.1868 and keep getting the error: "installation local package not found". We have tried the following:
1. We are logged on as the administrator with full rights on the server.
2. We have searched for the original msi files from the original install and found them and placed this file in the same location.
3. Tried changing the path in the registry to point to the location of the install files.
4. Checked to see if they were using client updates - no
5. Checked to see if they were using a Client Install Package and cannot find one.
How can we get this installed?
Thanks,
Nancy

Make sure you are logged in as an adminstrator and have full permission to the GP program folder. Also, copy the service pack onto the server and run it form there. Finally, if this is a terminal server make sure no one is using GP at the time of application of the service pack.
I have not seen this before but it sounds like the SP can't find the local GP install. I dont know the registry settings off hand so you may need to do a repair on the local install. To do that go to Programs and Features in your control panel, right click on Microsoft Dynamics GP 10, click Change. When the installer come up select repair. This repair should fix any registry errors. Let me know if this helps!
