Standard Cost Revaluation after posting transactions

Hi

I am having an issue with standard cost revaluation where I want to update the cost after transactions have been posted. Our cost finalization takes upto a week and we need to post the revaluation for the current month but we cannot halt our operations until that time.

The error i'm getting is: "The standard cost cannot be changed. Open physical transaction is posted at a later date."

Please help.

    Hi Fahad Safder,

Do you have some standard costs transactions recorded on a future date already?

Have you tried activating the new standard cost prices on a later date for example at the next Weekend?

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

    Dear Ludwig

    Appreciate the response.

I do have standard cost revaluations for the previous month, but none at a later date for a particular product. For this product, I can activate the price as soon as the current date, or at any later date.

The only constraint here seems to be that inventory transactions do not exist for a date later than the activation date.

    Hi Fahad Safder,

You are right. The only constraint is that you cannot backdate the activation of new standard costs.

    Best regards,

    Ludwig

Well... Looks like we're in a pickle. Thank you for your input Ludwig!

Is there's a workaround to this?

Our best hope at the moment is converting the items to weighted average costing and then revaluing them at every month-close to reflect the relevant Standard Costing figures. I would like to use the Standard Costing functionality if a all possible...
