started getting this error on April 9th . Not sure if end of XP support is related) Head Quarters is on XP pro, 1 store/client/pos is on windows 7 Pro, another is on XP pro
when the client creates a connection to the server the client displays
<<postmessage>> wrong protocol or connection state for the requested transaction or request
The Headquarters server pops up a run-time error '429': ActiveX can't create object
Any help is appreciatied

I think the problem has to do with HQ Server. I would uninstall and reinstall the latest hotfix to RMS on the HQ Server. Once you have done that and HQ Server is running try connecting from the store again.
Depending on the version of RMS you are running you might want to run HQ Server with the -q switch.
