
After a new Pay Code is setup. There are 2 ways to assign the paycode to the employees.
1/ Quick Assignment
2/ Paycode
If a new paycode is setup which is based on the hourly rate and the master setup has the rate of zero.
When the paycode is assigned using Quick Assignment the payrate has to manually entered.
When the paycode is assigned using the Pay Code Cards the user gets the prompt to fill the default from master setup or employee. By selecting employee the system populates the pay rate.
My question is there is any was the pay rate to populate using Quick Assignments as this method is faster to setup employee pay codes.

You have properly described the function as is for using Quick Assignment vs assigning pay codes manually. However, have you considered using the Employee Class to hold default paycodes you want assigned to new employees? And be sure the pay codes are set up with the correct Pay Type, so if they should be based on the regular hourly rate, they all get populated as needed, with the new payrate when you fill it in on the Base Hourly pay code.
