Hi,

Please explain me how the aging bucket considering dates from the posting?

In Business Central we have only Work Date as posting date, here can we use invoice date or due date as posting date? Please suggest me the better approach to have correct aging periods in the report.

Here we were migrated the data from GP and the Due dates are from 2017 onwards and all these data migrated to BC on 12/01/2019 hence all these transactions are coming under 60days bucket. Can we use the actual due dates as posting date?

    Hi,

As per the Sales & receivable Setup, Default Posting date has given Workdate which means whenever you will create sales Document at that time Posting date will get filled as Workdate.

If you choose No date as Default Posting date in setup at that time Posting date will come blank.

Regrading aging, If you are managing due date based on payment terms then your Due date will calculate Posting date+Payment terms.

    So basically Your

    Posting Date = Workdate

Due Date = Workdate + Payment Terms

You can extract your aging report based on posting date as well as Due date.

I hope this will help you to understand the scenarios.

    Thanks Abhinav,

Can the end user enter past dates (if we select No date) manually while we are posting the Invoice.

    Hi,

Yes, You can select Past dates also but at that time system will just through warning message & allow you to post the document on past date If you did not restricted to post past dated entries.
