Hello Good folks,

I am an experienced .NET developer. I would love to learn how to customize CRM and Developing plugins,  Web API's and all.

Is there any road map or path that I should follow to learn all these? Any guidance is greatly appreciated.

Thank you

    Hi bnath,

The fact that you are a .NET developer is a great start.

Not sure what your experience is with Client Scripting, but there is a lot of content out there.

First of all, do you have access to Customer Source or Partner Source  -> Dynamics Learning Portal? If you do that is a good start. Are you on CRM 2015, or do you have access to a later version?

You can start with the Microsoft Documentation:

    docs.microsoft.com/.../developer-guide

Take a look at the content from Neil Parkhurst on customization and configuring Dynamics 365.

    neilparkhurst.com/.../mb2-716-certification-microsoft-dynamics-365-customization-and-configuration-revision-guide

After you familiarize yourself with that I would get familiarized with Client Api, Web Api, Processes and finally Plugins and Custom Workflow Activities. Again, plenty of samples on the web. You can check out:

    crmbook.powerobjects.com/extending-crm

I would also recommend you download the plugin developer training by Alex Shlega (MVP). It is a great resource for starting to develop plugins.

    Hope this helps.

    I sent a LInkedin request.

I work for a big bank that uses Microsoft CRM and it is a critical platform for them. I am  in a group that supports CRM app support  and a new employee. I would like to get my hands into development platform.
