Report of fixed assets in Fixed Asset Group

(0) ShareShare

Posted on by

I have reset the life for a group of fixed assets and per the Kb article created a group of assets (under Fixed Assets > Transactions > Select Assets).  Now I would like to see a list of the assets in the group but the screen doesn't have print function.  Do not see a report.  Also tried to create a SmartList but couldn't find the field with the name of the group.

Does anyone know how I can do this?

Regards,

Ann Barry

In the Fixed Assets module, the "Select Assets" transaction is used to create a custom group of assets in order to easily mass change specific characteristics of these assets. This "custom" group is not included neither in the predefined Fixed assets reports nor the out of the box smart lists.

The best way to meet your requirement is either to use the predefined fields which are mostly included in the FA  reports such as class. Or to use one of the "User Defined fields"; which are more than 15 to store any specific data you want, and then create a customized report accordingly

Thanks for your response.  Going forward I will certainly tag the assets using a different field before creating the asset group.  However, in this case - I'm looking to get a list of the assets (several hundred of them) from a group that has already been created and changed.

It's unfortunate that this field isn't part of out of the box smartlists.  Does this field exist in any of the FA tables in SQL?  Alternately, could I get to it using SmartList Builder?

    Regards,

    Yes Definitely,

    SELECT *
    FROM [FA10100]
    WHERE [GROUPNAME] = 'Group Name'
    SELECT *
    FROM [FA10200]
    WHERE [GROUPNAME] = 'Group Name'
