Hello, The Replan option in Released Production Orders in Business Central helps adjust the production schedule when there are changes in demand, material availability, or capacity. It recalculates the order's start and end dates while keeping existing reservations and allocations intact. Unlike Refresh, which resets the entire order, Replan retains modifications made to the production order while updating the schedule.

If you want to go in detail refer to the below link:

Hope this answer will help you!

The “Replan” option in Released Production Orders in Business Central is used to update the dates and demand-supply alignment of an existing production order, based on the current planning parameters and inventory availability.

    What does “Replan” do?

When you choose Replan on a Released Production Order, Business Central:

    • Evaluates component availability (i.e., materials and subassemblies).

    • Adjusts the starting and ending dates of the production order based on the current work center/resource calendars and lead times.

    • Reschedules operations if the original dates are no longer feasible due to changes in supply, capacity, or demand.

    • Optionally, it can also recalculate routing and component lines if major changes have occurred (though this is more relevant when using functions like “Refresh Production Order”).

    When should you use it?

You would typically use Replan in scenarios such as:

    Key Notes:

    • A delay in material availability.

    • A shift in capacity or work center/resource availability.

    • A change in customer demand (i.e., sales order due date).

    • When production needs to be realigned with current planning suggestions or MRP results.

    • This function is less intrusive than “Refresh Production Order” — it focuses on dates rather than structure.

    • It helps maintain a valid and feasible production plan without needing to cancel and recreate the production order.

    • It is most effective when used after running MRP, or if there’s a known issue affecting the production timeline.
