Reminders Automation - Reminder filter doesn't work

Hi,

Since the new business central release it is possible to send out reminders automatically. Today I tested this feature in a sandbox (copy of production) environment and noticed that when configuring an action in an automation reminder that the “Reminder Filter” hatch at the bottom of the configurator does not work. I can press the three dots “...” add a filter and press “OK” but then the filter disappears. At first I thought this might be a visual bug. But when running the automation once, the filter set on the reminder is not taken into account.

Is this a bug, will this be fixed in an upcoming release?

FYI: I already tested this on a sandbox with version: 24.1.18927.19282 and it doesn't work, I've also tested it on a sandbox on a local docker container with version: 24.1.18927.19636 and there it works.

Thanks for the reply.

I checked out your blog and I couldn't find the part where you fill in the filter in the reminder automation setup. I just want to clarify that the "Reminder terms filter" works. It's just that I couldn't get the "Reminder Filter" working in my cloud sandbox environment. (I've updated my sandbox environment to the latest version possible: 24.1.18927.19282)

Hi Nicolas,

I have also not encountered any errors while testing this myself. I just set up automation of sending issued reminders last week using this new module.

In the page for Reminder Automation, I used the filters:

No. Printed = 0

Remaining Amount <> 0

These filters are to secure that I don't resend all reminders that are already sent, and that I don't send any reminders that might have 0 in amount. The second filter is to avoid sending any potentially deleted documents with zero amount - this happens when deleting a reminder to avoid number series gaps.

The filter you have set will only send Reminder Level 3 - could the issue here not be that you are issuing the first reminder, so the level is only 1? Therefore your filter is excluding your currently issued reminders.

Thanks for your reply.

The filter I set was just a random filter to show what the problem is. I've tested with all sorts of filtering and it just removes the filter when trying to apply it.
Below you can find the example with remaining amount <> 0.

Hi,

I've found a "solution" for the problem. By changing the language to English (United States) of my Business Central I could set the reminder filter.

fyi: It didn't work for following languages: Dutch, French, etc.

The only difference I could see when switching the languages. The name of the filtering only switched to "reminder header" when I selected English. But when I selected German, Dutch or French it stayed in French.
