Currency is out to 3 Digits but business checks need only 2 digits

A little history: We need to purchase items with low costs out to 3 digits. But when we changed it we noticed later our business checks also prints to 3 digits. I was able to correct how the number prints from 3 digit to 2 digits, but it's the written amount that needs fixing.

Example for a check amount of $3,564.63 would then be written out as follows:

Three Thousand Five Hundred Sixty Four Dollars and 630 Cents

Question: Does anyone know how to fix the 630 cent to be written correctly to 63 cents on our checks???

    GTA,

Report will displays the currecy written format based on the system level currency setup.

If you want to chage the system level currency setup, follow below the steps.

Go to Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Setup > Currency .

Under Currency = choose which currency do you want to change to two decimal places.

If the "Separator : Decimals" is greater than 2 then you can't dicrease the currency decimals from front end.

you can change it from backend only.

For backend process, use below the query.

update DYNAMCICS..MC40200 set DECPLCUR = 3 (means decimal places 2) where CURNCYID= 'Enter currency id'

Currency decimals in Dynamics GP can be absolutely a big topic. When you say that you want to purchase your items with the low cost (3 digits), it means the you need to have a currency setup on the supply chain level (Microsoft Dynamics GP > Tools > Utilities  > Inventory > Change Decimals Places).

On the other hand, having financial amounts in two decimals means setting the currency decimals as (2 digits) on the system level.

I have gone through such an analysis of changing currency decimals long ago, you could review the post on the reference below; Changing Currency Decimals
