Hi,

I have created a role with some record level security.
if i created a Report as finished journal from the role,

im getting the error like "Number sequence 0 does not exist",

I didn't create any record level security for Journal Name table.

how do i solve this error, please help me.

Hi Boobalan,

Can you specify which tables were used in the record level security? Is there a constraint on the number sequences table itself or parameters?

Did this user also have the role system user assigned?

thanks for ur reply Andre,

yes, i assigned system user.

And i have used many tables, like salestable, invent table, salesline, BOMtable, BOMParmReportfinished, purchtable, inventjourtable, ecoresproduct.

there is no constraint on the number sequence table.

Hi Boobalan,

As the title is stating it is for a particular user, I assume this it working correctly for other users, e.g. with the system administrator role.

So it should be caused by one of the tables which is contrained using RLS. Also I assume you have used Record Level Security and not Extensible data security. Do you have also secured records on ProdJournalName or ProjJournalTable?

Also check if the user has at least read access on the tables required. Probably the user is missing some indirect rights on some tables.

Hi Andre,

Its working correctly for all other roles. and i didn't create any record level security for the prodJournalName and projJournalTable tables.

i couldnt find, which tables i need to give read permissions.

Hi Boobalan,

This will be not easy to tell as the contents of the role is not known. Also not the setup of other security like RLS. You can try to debug the error. Have a look at my blog how to debug coding using a role assigned. This requires the Security development tool installed. kaya-consulting.com/tips-on-ax-2012-security-development-tool-part-6

Otherwise you can try debugging using the Visual studio debugger.

During debugging try to find out why this error is generated and what values or records were not retrieved.

Hi Andre,

In my i have added some privileges and duties. if i duplicate the role, and assign the duplicate role with a user and i open the ax, i can create Report as finished journal.

the duplication role is working fine, but the original role is not working, the record level security is mapped with context string property.

Hi Boobalan,

Thanks for the clarification. Earlier I assumes you were not using the Extensible data security (XDS). Now I think you are using one or more security policies. Note that RLS and XDS are completely different.

Probably when you assign both roles it will again not work as the security policy is linked on the first role.

Can you share a screenshot with the constrained tables in the security policy/policies?

The table name is append with the security policy name.

I fixed the above error. i was added record level security for inventjournaltable.

so that i was faced the issue. i removed that table security. after that the error is gone..

You mean XDS or RLS ? if it is XDS then look at the query which may have the Journal name attached to it
