Send notification about contract expiry date

Hi,

I want to be able to send a notification to our client relationship managers when the client they're managing is 6 months out from expiry. What is the best method to do this?

I saw on another thread about using "timeout" function in workflows but we don't seem to have this in ours.

    Hi,

    Thank you for your query.

    There are 2 options to achieve this:

    • Wait Condition in Workflows (time-out): please follow instructions as per following link (you should able to see it if you follow these steps), please note, Wait conditions are only available in background workflows. but this approach is expensive in terms of performance.

    (+) How To Set Up a CRM Workflow Timeout Condition - Dynamics 365 Sales Community

    • Microsoft Flow: create a scheduled cloud flow (lets say it runs daily @ 09:00AM) with following high-level logic: 
      • List Rows (Accounts) based on Expiry date (where Expiry Date - 6 Months = Today)
      • For each record:
        • Get Owner's email
        • Send Email
