When a user deletes an OLE attachment in the notes of a record (say, an order in Sales Transaction Entry), is the file that is created in the OLENotes shared folder deleted?
Thanks.

Joseph, I'm just following up on this to see if you have any further questions regarding the OLE notes in Dynamics GP.
Take a look at my article All About Dexterity OLE Container - Follow Up. You will also want to open the link to the previous article for more details.
Hello Joe,
The file that is held in the OLENotes directory gets deleted when the object in the OLE Container gets deleted.
If you only have a simple note attached to a window, for example the Sales Transaction Entry window, it won't write anything to the OLENotes directory because the notes are actually held in the SY03900 table in each company database, this is the Record Notes Master table.
Let me know if this answers your question or not.
Thank you
Hi Derek-
Just to make sure I am understanding -- the file that is created in the OLENotes directory will get deleted when it is deleted in GP?
OR
The file in the OLENotes directory gets deleted when the complete note (opening the note by clicking the yellow note icon) and then clicking Delete (so the note icon goes back to white)?
Thank you.
-Joe
Hello Joseph,
In Dynamics GP, if you create a OLE note it will write to the Data/Notes/(company interid)/OLENotes/ directory for Dynamics GP.
In this OLENotes directory, you will see the actual note file, that does get deleted once the note is completely deleted in Dynamics GP.
Thank you.
