ReportReport

Hi

Could you please advise how we could generate  a report  in D365 showing the "submitted by" or "Created by" user  of each journal as the posted by user is showing as batch user for workflow related journals.

Thank you

Kind Regards
Dhakshi

    Hi,

Thanks for your question. In D365 Finance, when journals are posted via workflow, the "Posted by" field often shows the batch user, which can make it difficult to trace who originally submitted or created the journal.

To generate a report showing the "Submitted by" or "Created by" user, consider the following options:

    • Use the Workflow history: Navigate to the workflow history for each journal to identify the user who submitted it. This data can be accessed via the workflow tracking form or through custom reporting.
    • Extend the journal entity: If you need a consolidated report, you can customize the journal data entity to include the CreatedBy field from the LedgerJournalTable or related tables.
    • Audit trail or database query: You can also query the CreatedBy field directly from the database or use the audit trail functionality if enabled, to track user actions on journal records.

Creating a custom report or Power BI dashboard that pulls this metadata can be a practical solution for ongoing visibility.

Please verify if this response was helpful.

    Thanks and best regards,
    Daniele

    Hi,

If you are interested only in the two columns, i,e. journal number and created by, there are many ways you can do this.

    1) add the created by column on the form, using personalization and exports the records to excel (standard export to excel)

    2) use the data entity to export the information.

If in case these fields are readily not available in UI. You can enable these field from Table properties.

There is no standard report for this purpose.
If not enabled, you can enable created by fields from table properties or you can setup for created and submitted as database tracking as insert and update.

    Hi Dhakshi,

There is no standard report for this.

You may want to try to use the voucher transactions > Personalize > insert column for Created by.
