Integration issue in our REGION-RI company

Posted on by 318

We have integrated a payment file into NAV and that has completed as far as populating the payment journal and creating a SEPA file for transmission to our Bank.
A user has then deleted some lines from the payment journal and we cannot get them back (which normally we can)
I now have transactions in several tables but not all of them and I need some helping resolving them.

We have an underlying flaw in the code that allows incomplete entries to be integrated that has existed since implementation several years ago. We have a workaround that prevents this being a problem However on this occasion the user has proceeded too far and now I am unable to apply the workaround. In other words its user error!

    hi

If a user has deleted lines from the payment journal in Dynamics NAV and you cannot get them back, there are a few things you can try to recover the deleted lines:

Check the Recycle Bin: In Dynamics NAV, deleted records are typically moved to the Recycle Bin. You can access the Recycle Bin by going to "Departments" > "Administration" > "IT Administration" > "Recycle Bin". From there, you can search for the deleted payment journal lines and restore them.

Check the Transaction Log: If the payment journal lines were deleted recently, they may still be available in the transaction log. You can access the transaction log by going to "Departments" > "Administration" > "IT Administration" > "Transaction Log". From there, you can search for the deleted payment journal lines and restore them.

Restore from backup: If the payment journal lines cannot be recovered using the Recycle Bin or transaction log, you may need to restore a backup of the database to a point in time before the lines were deleted. This will restore all data to the state it was in at the time of the backup, so any changes made since the backup was taken will be lost.

If none of these options are successful, you may need to manually recreate the payment journal lines. It may also be a good idea to review your process and implement additional controls to prevent incomplete entries from being integrated in the future.

Hi, sorry I didn't fully understand the question.

If you want to retrieve the payment journal lines deleted by the user, you can enable the Change Log function in NAV.

    https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/dynamics-nav-app/across-log-changes

But if it has been deleted, it can only be retrieved from the database backup.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks.
