Configuration Package - Posted Documents

Hello,

In BC Cloud environments, 2 configuration packages are available for evaluation.

While W1.ENU.STANDARD only imports setups, W1.ENU.EVALUATION imports mater data and transactions and even posted documents.

During the import, I see that the documents are posted like we do manually, and is this something we can also configure for our packages?

Please advise.

Thank you.

Interesting and something new for me that you pointed out. Mark the answer that Macro Mels has written so that others also know that it is a solved question. Thanks

    Hi Marco,

Thank you very much for the information.

This information clarified well how I should use Rapidstart.

Thank you again for spending your time to find it out.

    Hello,

The development team got back to me with the following answer. Hope it helps.

    ///

Configuration packages are designed and optimized to import/export setup data for companies and not intended to launch any posting activities while applying a package.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-set-up-a-company-with-rapidstart

Recommended procedure is to import Journal lines that can be posted and therefore getting the transactions in.

    docs.microsoft.com/.../admin-how-to-prepare-a-configuration-package

Due to performance reasons, it is not advised to post transactions in the RapidStart/Configuration packages functionality. It is not documented in our current docs as we encourage to use RapidStart to setup new companies with the default setup data.

The only info I could find about processing rules (oriented mostly for data formatting topics) are in the NAV 2015 help.

    ///

    Thanks.

    Thank you.

"Processing Rule" may be the one as I see different options to take from for a table

I do not know about detailed doc.

    Hello,

Yes, you are right. Let me ask internally if someone has documentation how to do this.

    Thanks.

Hi, Let me explain with the screen copies.

In BC Cloud environment, instead of using CRONUS, we can import predefined configuration packages

    pastedimage1605085350384v1.png

and when the evaluation package (W1.ENU.EVALUATION) is selected and start the package application

    pastedimage1605085424267v2.png

    pastedimage1605085457252v3.png

We first see a message like this, which is like the ones in other packages

    pastedimage1605085512386v4.png

but after a while, we see messages like these

    pastedimage1605085543956v5.png

    pastedimage1605085550018v6.png

    pastedimage1605085560535v7.png

obviously, invoices are being posted during the application.

We cannot import posted documents (like posted sales invoices) in configuration packages but in this predefined package, imported documents are posted.

I wonder how we do it and let me know how this can be done with configuration packages.

    Thank you.
