Upgrading Dexterity Form - Ok and Cancel Buttons moved to Ribbon

Posted on by 3,812

When I upgrade an older Dexterity Forms to GP 2015 using Dexterity 14.0, some buttons such as "Ok" and "Cancel" are automatically displayed in the Ribbon during run-time. However other buttons stay in the body of the form. how can I stop them from moving to Ribbon?

    Hi Max,

The is a new feature which was introduced on GP 2013 R2. If you do not want to use the ribbon button display you can turn this feature off as suggested above by going to the user preference or In Dex.ini (Microsoft Dynamics GP>>Data>>Dex.ini) switch to disable the new ribbons (EnableWCRibbons=FALSE)

The below are the some of the buttons that will be automatically added to the default ribbon include:

    • Save
    • Clear
    • Delete
    • Print
    • Help
    • Note
    • Cancel

For information on how to change the default Ribbon behavior see Part 9: Chapter 44 of the Microsoft Dynamics GP 2013 Integration Guide manual installed with Dexterity.

Refer the link for more details about the Ribbon Button Feature:

    1. In Test Mode, go to Dynamics GP-->User Preferences.

    2. And change the window command display type to "Menu Bar".

    3. Then return to development mode and again go to test mode to check the window menus (OK, Cancel, etc.,).

    Hope this helps!!!
