Errors after applying R2 image

Hi,

I downloaded the latest Dynamics AX r2 image from PartnerSource. I`m in the process of Learning about the new eCommerce features.

I`ve received many errors... The first one was that AX was not able to Connect to the server, so I had to start up the AOS (shouldn`t this one be running by default in this image?)

Now I`m experiencing several errors when I try to enter the different SharePoint pages.

Examples:

- Opening http://ax2012r2a:40001/sites/RetailProductCatalog/Pages/default.aspx

Server Error in '/' Application.

When I try to open http://ax2012r2a:40002/sites/RetailPublishingPortal the page does not load at all... It dosen`t seem like its able to Connect and then it timeout.

It seems like something is not running. I`m not very technical, but anyone here can help?

RE: Errors after applying R2 image

you have to reconfigure somethings because you possible are using different IP address for this VM.

    Try this:

    www.amer-ax.com/.../enterprise-portal-is-not-working-on-dynamics-ax-2012-hyper-v-image

RE: Errors after applying R2 image

Sounds like some SharePoint services/AppPools are not running on your VM. Did you restart the VM after applying the image?

    Please check that:

    a) The following Windows Services are up and running:

     SharePoint Administration

     SharePoint Search Host Controller

     SharePoint Server Search 15

     SharePoint Timer Service

     SharePoint Tracing Service

    b) Go to Internet Information Services (IIS) and check that all App Pools are up and running

If any service/pool above is not running - start them, or, if you never restarted the VM after applying the image - just restart the VM.

Once it is restarted try to open SharePoint Central Admin, just to make sure that basic SharePoint app pools/services are in working state. Then try to access Product Catalog/Publishing Portal again.

RE: Errors after applying R2 image

All app pools are up and running. I`ve also started all the services that you`ve mentioned. I`m able to open Sharepoint Central Admin, but cannot Access any of the other pages such as the Catlog/Publishing portal...

Either timesout or I get the error above. Any other suggestions?

Now I was acctually able to enter the front store and also the Retail Product Catalog, but it took around 4 minutes to load and when I tried to navigate the site the same error as I stated above showed up...

RE: Errors after applying R2 image

    Please tell me:

    1) How many processors you assigned to your VM (often people just forget to change default settings, which is 1 processor, and forget to specify 4, as a result the performance of such VMs are not very good.

    2) How much RAM (Total and Available - you can see these numbers in Task Manager for instance) you have on that VM

    3) When you said that you saw the same error I assume it is the one which complains about timing out while trying to access SharePoint's Security Token Service, if so, what happens if you try to load this URL in your browser:

'http://localhost:32843/SecurityTokenServiceApplication/securitytoken.svc'  (I extracted this Url from the error you pasted originally)

    ?

    4) Your SQL Server is up and running, correct ?

RE: Errors after applying R2 image

    Hi,

Thank you very much for Your replay. I`ve now downloaded the image all over and also specified number of processors to 4. The performance is much better. I`ve seen that you also answered one of my other threads - Thanks! I will come back to you for that too.
