Hiding / Restricting "Delete" Button on Journals Screens

While setting up different level profiles , we have a requirement to restrict / hide the "Delete" button in Journals Screens e.g General Journals. The hide option is not available on the Journal Screens. What can be the workaround to this issue ?

You can use AL Customization like UI Extension

pageextension 50100 "GenJournalExtension" extends "General Journal"
{
layout
{
// No changes in layout
}
actions
{
modify(Delete)
{
Visible = false;
}
}
}

If you want a quick fix with no dev → use Permission Sets (block delete at table level) If not clean UI where Delete is hidden → use an AL page extension.

The delete button cannot be hidden.

You can make it non-editable by custom development or by removing the delete permission from the users (which can cause another issue because once posted, the journals are deleted).

Or you can remove the user's Delete permission, so that the user's Delete will be grayed out.
