Sales Forecast

Has anyone ever experienced an anomaly whereby data lines present in the sales forecast of an item do not appear in the Inventory Forecast which by nature precludes them from being part of the net requirements?

    Re: Sales Forecast

When you create a sales forecast line, there's a field ForecastSales.Active - it must be TRUE for the sales forecast line to be "created" in the Incventory forecast.

In AX 4 you can see the checkbox for this field in the Sales forecast form, under the General tab, Budget group, Active checkbox...... or under Project tab, Administration group, Active checkbox.

Let me know if this solves your problem.

    George,

Thank you for your response - unfortunately both of those boxes are checked but the sales forecast still doesn't appear in Inventory Forecast.

What about the Report checkbox - same form, under General tab, just below Model field. It must be checked too. It's not editable in my AX instance.

The report checkbox is also checked.  Mine isn't editable either, I think it's tied to the forecast model somehow.

It turns out the Report field is linked to the allocation method - it's only aTrue if the allocation method is None. Can you confirm that you are using the None method (on the Overview tab)?

If you are using Period or Key, then the expanded (allocated) forecast lines are marked with Report = True and they are included in the Inventory forecast.

If you are using the None allocation method and both Active and Report are checked, then it's either missing data or incorrect setup (I ran out of ideas for incorrect setup though).

    George,

Thank you.  All of my setup appears to be as you describe.  Whatsmore the item in question has 6 forecast lines with "None" and they do not appear in Forecast Inventory.  This item does have 1 line in "Period" and it DOES appear in forecast inventory.  In contrast I have another item for the same customer and product family which has similar forecast lines, all of which appear in Forecast Sales AND Forecast Inventory.

In any event, your input is much appreciated.
