GP2016 Web Client After log in just gives a blank screen

Hi

I've installed the GP2016 web client however when I log in I get nothing more than a blank web page.

So I start the web browser and put in the URL in for the GP Web client

The login screen appears so I enter my credentials <Domain>\<Username> and password.

The message 'Please wait while we get things ready' appears then after that just a blank screen.

There are no buttons to exit GP or toolbars the browser is completely blank!

Checking the event viewer there are no errors logged in the 'Dynamics' section.

If I try logging in again it gives me the option to create a new session or reconnect to an existing one.

I can log in to the management console fine and see the active sessions.

The domain account has SQL Access and is attached to a GP User account.

Anyone got some ideas how to fix it?

If you're using a multi-server setup make sure you have network access (port 443) to both the IIS server and the back end SessionHost server. Also verify you don't have any certificate errors, avoid using a self-signed cert.

    Hi

I'm using a single server setup and I'm trying to access the web client on the same machine. I have tried a full uninstall and reinstall of the web client software but get the same issue. I get the feeling it's permissions some how but I'm not sure what. It might even be a browser based issue.

    Thanks

Did you ever find a resolution to this? I am stuck with the same situation with GP 18.2.1600

I wanted to respond to this, though you may've already found the answer.

Usually when we see the browser window show blank, or showing 'Microsoft Dynamics GP' and not getting past that, and not showing any errors in the browser or Event Viewer 'Dynamics' log, it is a matter of Web Client not being able to find the Runtime Service, which is what loads Dynamics GP into the browser window.

This usually happens because the SSL certificate being used with Web Client and required to be put onto the Runtime Service during the install, is not the FQDN of the server that Web Client is installed onto, or the session host server if a multi-server configuration of Web Client and because of this, there isn't anything pointing the host name of the certificate to the IP address of the server.

The best way to verify this is to ping the host name put onto the Runtime Service, to see if it returns the IP address of the Web Client server or not. This should work on any machine where Web Client is attempting to be accessed.

    Thanks

Of all things it turned out to be the browser. I was running Firefox and then just for the heck of it I tried IE and it worked.

Ok, yes, I believe I remember hearing that. Thanks

Yes, Jake and I had a great time with this one. It was really odd. Using Firefox after immediately installing the web client it would work. However as soon as you rebooted you were dead in the water.
