Which tables contain what information

Hello all. I am a new user to AX and need some help with understanding the tables and knowing which tables contain what information. Can anyone give me guidance on this? I am most in need of AR cash application and AP payment data.

I appreciate all the help you can provide!

You can refer to the developer documentation property on every table to know its primary purpose.

You can pretty much work out almost everything from the UI. Right click on a field you are interested about > Personalize, then the bottom right corner will tell you the name of the table and field in the backend, or the display/edit method name. Then on the Information tab you could check the caller class and the current form name, and finally on the Query tab you could even see how are the current tables on your form getting linked together and what filters (ranges) are being used to get the data.
