Qualifying Opportunity

Hi- I'm trying to see the connections between our leads and the opportunities that are generated from them.  When a sales rep qualifies a lead, it auto-creates an opportunity.  Once that opportunity is completed, I'd like to see that connection between the two records back on the qualified lead form.  There is a field called "Qualifying Opportunity" that doesn't appear to be functioning.  When a lead is qualified and the opportunity is generated, that field remains blank on the qualified lead form.  I was hoping it would populate with a link to the opportunity.  Am I missing something?

Cheers!

    Hi,

I've just run a test for you in CRM2015. My findings are that when I create a lead and qualify this, that the opportunity DOES get stored in the attribute "Qualifying Opportunity". After qualifying the lead I used the advanced find to search for my lead and added the column to the search results. This way I could see the opportunity that got created for this lead.

You mentioned that the field remains blank on the qualified lead form. In the default form I cannot find the attribute by default. This means that most likely your form is modified. Could it be that there is an issue with the field added to the form, or maybe some custom script/business rules that clear the value in this field?

    Hope this helps,

Thanks for the response.  I don't think there's been any major modifications to the lead form.  I checked for business rules and have none associated with it.  Looking at the form properties, I don't see any event handlers or form/field events.  Not sure what you mean when you say you cannot find the attribute by default?

My ultimate goal here is to create a bar chart showing leads that originate from tradeshows (not other sources) and have been converted into opportunities.  X-axis would be the individual tradeshows (typically the topic name of the lead) and the bars themselves would be the cumulative dollar amounts of the qualifying opportunities from that show.  I'm assuming I need this qualifying opportunity field to be populated in order to create this graph?

    Thanks again for your help!

Hi JBill..I am facing the same issue. In my case, for some of the Leads, "Qualifying Opportunity" is populated, while for some leads it does not.

Did you get any solution for this? Thanks in advance.
