Price Rounding

Posted on by 890

Having some trouble with the Price Rounding feature in the Inventory Wizard.  Attempting to have prices round to the closest $0.25, but the Wizard just isn't giving me the results I'm looking for.

Example, current vs expected ... but as you can see from the pictures, it's taking the A price of $9.89 and rounding it to $10.25

Price $10.29 $10.25
Price A $9.89 $10.00
Price B $9.53 $9.50
Price C $7.62 $7.50

    RE: Price Rounding

Thank you Wizard and Ramy! A quick right-click showed that the Formula was still set for Reg. Price ... easy fix!

It is not clear from your screenshots what calculation option you selected to set Price A, but if I run Task 110 set to generate Price Level A at 20% off regular price and round to the nearest .25, the routine does indeed generate the correct prices for all items selected rounded to nearest .25. The same procedure works as expected to set retail price based on % margin, or Price C based on markup from cost, etc.

The export/import function in the wizard allows you to export data from the worksheet,  massage the data column shown in white elsewhere, then import those changes back into the worksheet and commit. This is independent of an calculation performed to generate the worksheet. The right-click formula option also works independent of the worksheet generator.

    RE: Price Rounding

    Hello,

If you use round to the nearest as demonstrated in this example. The process only updates the discounted pricing or the updated pricings to the nearest dollar of the retail value. I'm not completely sure if it would calculate a percentage of a dollar like .25 correctly.

There are some pretty good examples in Store Operations Manager/Help/Contents/TYPE IN THE KEYWORD TO FIND (Price Rounding). Hope that helps you.
