Visual Studio Tools installation failed with wrong port number

Hi, I'm having some issues installing VS tools on my development computer. It's showing 'AOS 'servername@2713' cannot be reached....' When I checked the server configuration, it said port# 2712. Do I need to add a new instance, and I couldn't find where I can put or change any settings prior to the actual installation.  Forgot to mention, I'm working with Dynamics AX2012 R2 environment, and trying to add VS project to the AOT, so I can deploy my SSRS reports.

I'm from Dynamics CRM, so AX is new to me :(

Thanks in advance.

the message says "AOS is not running"

first check AOS service should be up and then reach us back in case of further issues

That's what confuses me... I couldn't find any service name ..Dynamics AX Application Object Server, not even listed..., but when I open up the server configuration (on the same server), it's showing 3 instances with 2 greyed out, and the one seems to be running has port#2713, which I understand that when you add an instance the port# incremented from 2712 default to 2713.

okay, you need to reach your ax service. you can do any of following

    1) reach to following path inside your ax

System administration >> Setup >> System >> Server Configuration

here you can note down list of all AOS in your AX environment, Those names can possibly suggest you location of your AOS

reach to each AOS and make sure the service of AX is running

    Or

    2) contact your SysAdmin to know where your AOS is and whether service of AOS is up or not

found the AOS, but somehow AX setup couldn't find the correct one, and I don't know where or how to change the default values when installing VS Tools from the setup dvd :(

I'm having issues installing VS tools on my computer...  I can deploy any SSRS reports to the reporting service manager (http://server/reports/), and able to run the reports from there, but unable to add the VS project to AOT, because VS2010 is missing the '..add project to AOT..' option... bc VS tools is not installed :(   correct me if I missed anything, thanks,

It could be the user issue. As you said you have found AOS service (Log on AS user) then try to do the install with the same user.

Do you need the second AOS servisse? You can just uninstall this one!
