Hi

I am using SSIS for MS CRM 2016 online data migration and .Net framework 4.6.1 But when I am running package I am getting this error "Could not load file or assembly 'Microsoft.Xrm.Sdk, Version=8.0.0.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=31bf3856ad364e35' or one of its dependencies. The system cannot find the file specified."

Please suggest.

Hey gsharma, Thanks for reaching out.

You will need to use the most recent version of the assembly. Please check your SDK or download the most recent which is 8.1.

    msdn.microsoft.com/.../hh547453.aspx

Let me know if this helps by verifying, or ask for more details. Have a great day!

If you are running the SSIS package from Visual Studio or SQL server you need to ensure that the dll is in the right place so that it can be loaded -  adding it to the GAC is probably the easiest.

    Hope this helps

    Hi

    Thanks for replying.

I had placed dll's in GAC also But I just noticed that the version of dll is "8.0.1.79". So is it possible that this may be a problem and I have to download exact version of "8.0.0.0" as the specified error looking for this version. The MS CRM 2016 online version which I am using is (8.0.1.90).I am running it through Visual Studio 2015.

    Any suggestions

Even after using most recent version of assembly 8.1, i am getting the same error. Any suggestions please?

You need to ensure that the version of the assembly that you have added to your Visual studio SSIS references is the same version that you have added to the GAC.

I am having the same version of assemblies and i put it on "C:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\assembly\GAC_MSIL" , right?

I did put it in GAC and on this location "C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft SQL Server\110\DTS\Binn"

And i am getting this error while executing a package. Is there a way that i can check where SSIS is looking for the assembly?

You should delete all the assemblies from the file system folders and use gacutil to install in the GAC - see msdn.microsoft.com/.../dkkx7f79(v=vs.110).aspx

I did register it through gacutil also but still getting the same error.  Is there a way that i can check where SSIS is looking for the assembly?

    Make sure you re-boot first.

You can enable fusion loader tracing - stackoverflow.com/.../how-to-enable-assembly-bind-failure-logging-fusion-in-net

You can use the log viewer to examine the trace - msdn.microsoft.com/.../e74a18c4(v=vs.110).aspx

    I will check that, Thanks.

Just a quick question, do i need to register "Microsoft.Xrm.Client.dll" also to GAC  or anywhere else and i am using is it possible the version of this assembly is a problem because i am using "7.0.0.0" version of this as i didn't find it in 2016 SDK?
