Generating Customer List from RMS that INCLUDES the e-mail

Whenever I use the Customer List Report in Store Ops Manager, it gives me every piece of information I want EXCEPT for the customers' email addresses. We will probably not do much by snail mail (cost, and not as green), and want to know how to generate a customer list that includes their Name, Street Address, City, State, Zip Code, Phone, and E-Mail. Help! Thanks in advance,

     I know this post is a little old, but you can just run this SQL query and it will give you this information.

    select firstname, lastname, City, State, Address, Address2, Zip, PhoneNumber, EmailAddress from customer

    When I go into Store Operations Manager, then to Reports > Customer > List I predominantly see a whole bunch of "Custom Number" or "Custom Text" selections. Nothing for the options you listed above. If your solution requires me to know SQL, then we are out of luck. I would have thought that the ability to simply extract E-Mail addresses would have been a fairly standard option and report. The more I use RMS, the more thoroughly disillusioned I am becoming that perhaps I got in over my head, and spent more money on something that, while it definitely CAN produce a lot of reports and benefits, is not doing so for me. It seems the only way to get those benefits is to SPEND MORE MONEY to get someone to customize the software... and of course, if we wanted a custom POS, we would have bought it from the beginning.

    I made a custom report that shows what you need.

    You will need to put this file into the Reports folder in Store Operations

    The path will be something like Program Files\Microsoft Retail Management System\Store Operations\Reports

    Then in Manager, go to Reports\Custom and it will be there.  You will have to go to show/hide columns and check the email column.

     

    If someone can tell me how to attach this, it's ready to go, do I have to get permission to attach?

    It was a frequently used function in the old newsgroup so users, like yourself, could generously share their custom reports, invoice and receipt templates, etc.

    Attachments were a major reason for the success of the RMS NG. Microsoft needs to add that ability as fast as possible. Not having the ability of users such as Scott to upload attachments will severely limit the quality of support received here. I can't tell you how many times I have benefited from the generosity of contributers willing to use their time and talents to figure out a custom SQL Script, report, receipt, html, etc. and make it available for everyone at no charge. MS shouldn't make it hard for them to help. New users are the ones really losing out here. I decided shortly after I started frequenting the NG that I was going to download and save every single attachment posted, even ones that had no meaning to me at the time. Now I am really happy I did that because I have amassed quite a collection. I shared those resources frequently, but now I can't. Does anyone have a workaround to this? Maybe a site somewhere that offers the ability to upload attachments and doesn't cost anything. MS needs to fix this quick. Craig

    You can just place (copy & paste) the text of your SQL code inside your reply in lieu of an attachment that cannot be opened in this new RMS Community.
