Currency associated with compensation - making D365 HR easier to use in multi-currency environment

Posted on by 25

Hi all,

Would appreciate any feedback on your thoughts on this Impact assessment I wrote based on feedback we have had from our end users:

1      Description of Change / New Functionality / Business Requirement

1.1 Detailed Requirement

When a manager wants to view or request a change to compensation for their employees through Manager Self-Service, the currency in which the compensation is held is not visible in those screens:

  1. MSS > My Team > My team information > Compensation section > Worker compensation tile
    2. MSS > My Team > Request compensation change
      a. Initial pop-up form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)
      b. Main request form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)
    3. MSS > My Team > Request worker reassignment
    a. Initial pop-up form (currency from current worker fixed compensation AND proposed worker fixed compensation)
    b. Main request form (currency from current worker fixed compensation AND proposed worker fixed compensation)

1.2 Business Case

Numerous Rotork managers have had issues understanding the currency of employees where those employees are spread out across a global legal entity structure, and this also can cause confusion when processing compensation changes or worker reassignments with an associated compensation change making it visible in the areas highlighted. Further, for approvers of change compensation requests and worker reassignments with compensation changes included, having the currency/currencies displaying on the approval forms (carrying through from the main request) will add significant clarity to what they are approving.

1.3 Benefits / Improvements

Reduction in confusion with what the system is booking/displaying when viewing compensation and processing compensation changes and worker reassignments with an associated compensation change

1.4 Current Solution

Currently the currency associated with a compensation value is not displayed in the screens mentioned in 5.1:

  1. MSS > My Team > My team information > Compensation section > Worker compensation tile
    2. MSS > My Team > Request compensation change
      a. Initial pop-up form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)
      b. Main request form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)
    3. MSS > My Team > Request worker reassignment
    a. Initial pop-up form (currency from current worker fixed compensation AND proposed worker fixed compensation)
    b. Main request form (currency from current worker fixed compensation AND proposed worker fixed compensation)

2       Proposed Solution

To add the currency associated with the compensation plan in the following screens for managers and approvers to the aforementioned compensation change and worker reassignment with compensation change workflows; suggested location denoted by blue box/es:

MSS > My Team > My team information > Compensation section > Worker compensation tile

MSS > My Team > Request compensation change
 a. Initial pop-up form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)

MSS > My Team > Request compensation change
 b. Main request form (currency from current worker fixed compensation)
