Posting Error - How to recreate stored procedures glpBatchCleanup & glpBatchPost

My client is running Great Plains 8.0.  The old server crashed and had to reinstall and haven't been able to post.  Error is DBMS: 0  Great Plains: 20488.

I have KB896545 and rebuilt SY00500 - Posting Definitions Master per Resolution 1 and am still getting the error.

How do I rebuild the stored procedures glpBatchCleanup and glpBatchPost in Great Plains 8.0?  The instructions for Resolution 2 are for versions 9.0 and 10.0.

I don't have a magic bullet for you on this one but I did want to comment.  I was trying to remember if 8.0 had tight version control on service packs, maybe someone else can comment also.

I would be floored if the issue is actually corruption of the stored procedures but I'm thinking (having been down this road) that you might not have service packed the rebuilt server to the correct level and that it has out of version code running miss-matched to the software which is running on the clients and created the data.

You might open the about Microsoft GP window (I think it's off the help menu choice on top toolbar) on the server client and then also a user machine and see if the build numbers match.  I've had similar issues when that has been out of sync.

    Best of luck.

    Hi Tim,

I just wanted to say thank you for your help.  You were correct, it turned out to be an issue with the service pack levels.

    Regards,

    Lori
