Can I deploy demo data packages into Customer preview demo environment

Hi All,

I have customer preview demo environment for Dynamics 365 finance and operation populated with some organisations but it seems there are no data to explore the application with.

I am not sure if with Customer preview demo environment I can deploy demo data for company example HQEU=> Non-US Headquarter. I have searched my demo deployment and can't find any of the companies like HQUS,HQEU, CON, PICH,PIFB mentioned on the demo data packages on the list of the companies in my demo environment.

Not sure if the demo data package can be deployed to customer preview environment.

I need help to clear my understanding in this area.

    Hi Fade,

    The companies you mentioned are not demo companies from the standard demo environment. They might be created by your organization. What is this customer preview about? Is this a demo VM created by your organization on your tenant where the customer can login for trying out some features? If so, the environment could have been deployed including standard demo data.

    If the customer acquired a subscription and this customer preview is the UAT environment, then it doesn't make sense to load demo data. It should then have customer specific data.

    Hi Andre,

    Thank you for your response. Yes, the customer preview is a demo VM created by my organisation where we can log in for trying out some features. We don't have any D365FO subscription currently except azure subscription for deployment of the demo environment.

    So does it mean I can deploy the demo data packages in this demo environment as there is a module called demo data within the application. I created a new legal entity and there is no data to explore some of the features I would want to try out within the new legal entity.

    Hi Fade,

    When you deploy a new environment in your Azure subscription, you can choose to include a demo set. This would be the recommended way to add demo data. The Module Demo data is generating only some data for a few scenarios, but not filling a whole demo set with companies like USMF, USRT, DEMF, etc.
