Recently, we observed the AppModuleComponentEdgeBase table is growing so fast and we don't know why?
How do we stop this growth?
How do we reduce the items in the table in order to reduce the space consumed?
What is the AppModuleComponent in Dynamics?
How to manage this table going forward?
Thanks.
Hi Benson,
Thanks for sharing!:)
Response from Microsoft Support on this issue:
AppModuleComponentEdgeBase is an internal table that stores the app module dependency information with various components which are directly or indirectly associated with an app. This table is populated for all offline apps post publish and is used later to sync the offline information to the client. This table was recently added as part of offline client perf improvement because of the increase in the data of these tables now. The org is having some Offline apps. Since the FCB was enabled recently(Second week Nov) so the table from 0 size would now have some data for each offline app so it is bound to increase. This is expected to increase in size if Org has Offline apps.
The AppModuleComponentEdgeBase table is a newly created system table for storing the details of the app module dependency information with various components which are directly or indirectly associated with an app, and this table is populated for all offline apps post publish and used to sync the offline information.
This table was recently added to improve the offline client performance. As the org is having some offline apps the table size is increasing and data is being stored on the table.
The FCB(Feature controlling system) can control different features, and this is basically seen from the back end and Microsoft has enabled it as it is needed to improve the offline performance of the app and it was recently enabled (Second week of Nov) because of this the table size went from 0 and will have data for each offline app. This was an expected behavior.
