Trigger Mail On Update of Cases and Notes Entity

When we update the field  in case entity, or when we  attach notes  to the same case record, we need to trigger an email. So we have  tried with workflows for achieving the same, but we ended up in receiving two emails on update of the case and notes entity.

Any help is much appreciated!

    Hi Divya,

    Sorry couldn't respond to you before.

    As I said, updating a field & attaching a note are 2 different triggers. You cannot merge the triggers. You could create a common plugin which sends an email and then trigger it on update & notes create. Put a depth check so it doesn't trigger again.

    Hi Ravi,

    When both the field update and attachment is added in the form then we will receive 2 mails.But i need a common email trigger stating that the record is updated  when both updates are done.

    I know this cannot be done through system workflow .Let me know if it can be done through Plugins

    You cannot have a single workflow which can trigger on case field update  as well as notes create. If you want to send email on these 2 actions then you ned to have 2 separate workflows.

    However having 2 workflow will not send 2 emails, the email will be send when the particular action is performed (case field update or notes create)

    Do you have any other logic/ workflow which either updates the case field on create of note or create note when field is updated? If yes then you need to put some check to stop the execution of second workflow.

    Hi Ravi,

    I have created workflow on field change in case entity another workflow on notes on create. Hence received two emails.

    I want a single email trigger that checks the field update in case entity and when notes is attached to the same record.

    Hi Kishor,

    If you are getting 2 email, then it is possible that the workflow is getting triggered twice. You need to check the triggers of workflow.
