    HI Vinod,

You can create fixed asset first and after that you can use "Inventory to fixed assets journal" from Fixed Asset module.

After that you can consume material and transfer cost from inventory to Fixed Asset.

    Thanks,

    Hi Vinod,

Simply create a fixed asset and then use the journal to transfer inventory to that fixed asset.

    Please see the following video.https://organicax.com/2016/09/19/fixed-asset-create-from-inventory/

    Here are the points:

    1. Fist create Fixed number manually to which you want to transfer Inventory item to Fixed asset

    2. Create Journal Name for Inventory to fixed asset (Fixed asset Journal Entries > Inventory to fixed asset)

    3. Create "Inventory to Fixed asset " Journal > Lines > Select Fixed asset number created in step -1 > Select date (Acquisition date) > Site & Warehouse from where Item is being capitalized > Quantity > Item number > Validate and Post

Note: Important thing to remember , "Item model Group" for items which are being transferred to Fixed assets should be "FIFO", if it is not FIFO then you need to you marking during "Inventory to Fixed asset Journal Creation > Lines > Interory > Marking > Select the Inward transaction to capture correct capitalization cost, other wise you end up having wrong Asset value

    hi Vinod,

Before processing  those operations show you how to transfer asset inventory into Fixed asset, you need to do following setup:

    1. setup a Inventory journal for the fixed asset.

    • go to Inventory management>Setup>Journal name>Inventory
    • select Fixed asset as Journal type
    • specify other necessary parameters.

    inventory journal

    2. Conduct Purchase process and Receiving process to have a fixed asset inventory.

    3. Following the steps as other experts mentioned above.
