Hide or Disable the Advanced and New links in the Lookup dropdown.

For security reasons we don't want a subset of our users to have access to the full Item Page when they are performing a Item look-up from a Sales Order line. The drop down search is more than adequate for their needs (and more convenient than a separate window) but that gives them the Advanced link which opens up the Item List. In an ideal world I'd like to control this at the Profile level but even if I have to control it at the Page or Table level, that would be fine.

You need to configure Permissions on Roles Setup. You need to choose Object Type = Page and add all pages you want to enable for your users. Also, they should not have assigned in any role Object Type = Page and Object ID = 0 with all permissions.

Is it possible to disable just the advanced link? From what I tried it either completely disables the drop down list or it doesn't.

    Hi,

You can manage this via removing the security access or by doing small customisation. If you remove LookupPageID (Item List) from Item Table, user would not be able to go to complete item page.

This would restrict lookup from all the NAV pages (i.e. Sales Order, Purchase Order, Item Journal etc.).

    Hi Manish,

Go to Item Variant Table (T 5401) > Remove the LookupPageID.

    Manish,

Even if Advanced option is there, people can not see any other information. Try and see if you are able to go to card page or edit the information?
