We are currently using Mercury as processor and they told that VX805 will compatible with RMS.
In order to use VX805 with RMS, do I need 3rd party program to make VX805 works with RMS or will is work only with a device driver?

Hello. I'm not sure I understand your statement entirely. The VeriFone Vx805 does not require two hands to operate. And only the customer should need to interact with the equipment when processing credit/debit cards.
Are you currently using the EMV version of the Vantiv/Mercury RR-MPS add-in with your RMS Store Operations software? This add-in is required for the VeriFone Vx805 Card Reader and integration with RMS Store Operations.
I recommend talking with your RMS and/or Vantiv Partner about how to complete your EMV setup with RMS.

It sounds like you are at the "head of the class" when it comes to RMS Partners. There is so much incomplete information out there!
I would really like to complete my EMV upgrade. I am with RMS and Vantiv at the moment. But I am not a big fan of the Vx805 (It seems like it take two hands to operate.) Are you aware of any other card readers with good third party software for RMS?

As a Microsoft RMS and Vantiv partner, I have tested and implemented the Vx805 with RMS in the majority of my customers retail stores. Retail Realm (Microsoft RMS distributor) and Vantiv support the VeriFone Vx805 device with RMS.
It is my understanding that Microsoft has not and will not develop an EMV integration for RMS for ANY card reader device since announcing end of life for RMS in July this year for new customers.
Your comment can be confusing to existing customers. I believe you may have been referring to card readers supported in a non EMV environment.
For EMV integration with RMS a third party solution is required that provides the communication of the card data from the EMV device to the software.
Specific EMV devices supported with RMS depends upon the hardware requirements stated by the third party add-in compatible with the customers cc merchant processor.

Please note that while the add-in may provide the compatibility with VeriFone VX805, it has not been tested with RMS, so we will be limited in the support that can be provided in case the device does not function as expected.
The VeriFone device that we have tested with RMS is the VeriFone MS860.

Danny, Yes, the VeriFone Vx805 is compatible with RMS via a 3rd party (RR MPS) plug-in. Additionally, the VeriFone Vx805 needs to be injected with the Mercury key by a Mercury Payment Systems authorized provider. You can not just purchase the Vx805, plug it in, and expect it to work.
Together your RMS Partner and Mercury Customer Support should be able to assist you with the entire process including ordering the hardware, installing and configuring the RR Mercury Credit Card Software with your RMS Store Operations software.
