Deploying power bi to my dev box

Hi,

I am trying to deploy a power bi to my dev box to be tested. I am not able to do it, I am not sure why.

I have created an app registration for the box on azure. And I was able to deploy the file on UAT. but when I try to deploy it on my dev box I get "Deployment failed for file Sales Analysis.", nothing else. I am not sure what to check or what else to do, any ideas?

Hi Astrid,

If I recall correctly, dev box is not supported but there's currently a workaround for that:

There's also a document I used for deploying Power BI on a demo environment, I'll try to get that for you.

Hi,

I tried following the steps, but when I try to refresh the entity store, now I get

Login failed for user 'axdwadmin'.

The instructions said to use the same pass as the machine, but I don't think axdwadmin uses the same pass as the machine, I did try login into SSMS on the machine with user axdwadmin and the machine pass and it failed.

What am I missing?

So I found the password that the account uses on lcs, and I was able to login, changed the password on azure, but still got the same error

on the machine details you will get the password for the account, it is not the same password as the box.
