Hello All,
I have created a new word template for according to my Entity.
I can see excel option, But I am not able to see the Word template option from Entity grid view.
I am login as Administrator and using CRM 365. Version 1612 (9.0.6.9) (DB 9:0:6:9) LOCAL
Where I will get the option to enable Word template option for my entity?
According to this URL : https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/power-platform/admin/using-word-templates-dynamics-365#step-5-generate-a-document-from-the--template
I am not getting option into my entity.
From a list of records : More (…) > Word Templates > Create Word Template
Regards
Atiour
I was using a Custom Entity. By default in custom Entity, Word template Option is not available.
I create a new Solution for my Entity and Using Ribbon Workbench I add A Button and set all default Properties of Word Template.
Well, if that's the case then upgrading deployment may not work and as you are able to create a word template from settings area for this impacted entity, excepted behavior is that it should show the "word template" button after opening the record. One of possible reason could be that either the word template button is missing or hidden on entity form so, you may want to check ribbon customizations for this entity.
Also, is it custom or OOB entity ? if it's OOB entity - can you please share the name of entity ? but if it's custom entity then you can check if any ribbon customizations was done which may have caused issue and resulting in word template button missing on entity form.
@Satish Tiwari
If I consider upgrading to the latest build of CRM:
With my current version of CRM, I have another entity where I can see the word template option. But into another entity I am not able to get word template option.
I am not able to understand where I can get the option so that I can enable word template option for this Entity.
I have Admin Privilege.
I checked in my deployment which is at 9.0.17 and I'm able to see the word template so you may want to consider upgrading to latest build or you can also test it in Dev / Test deployment first before doing it in production deployment.
@Satish Tiwari,
I am using CRM 365 On-Premise. Version 1612 (9.0.6.9) (DB 9:0:6:9)
Hello Atiour,
Are you using CRM On-premise ? If yes, can you please share the exact version of CRM ?
Hi @Aric Levin,
In to another entity i also have same option. I can choose single item from grid and then select word template.
But In to this entity i am not getting option.
Hi @Satish,
Thank you for your replay but i am not getting option: More (…) > Word Templates > Create Word Template.
In to my Entity. I want to enable that. I have full permission. I also update my question with image.
Hi Atiour,
Just to add to the additional comment, this is by design.
Excel templates are designed to work on subsets of records (or views). You are retrieving multiple records and exporting the data into a tabular table (in our case Excel).
Word templates are designed to work only on single records. This is why you will not see the Word template command bar menu item on a view, and will only be displayed on the form.
Hope this helps.
Hello Atiour,
In order to see the word template option, you would need to open the record where you would like to use the word template. You can find this info in this article - docs.microsoft.com/.../using-word-templates-dynamics-365
