I have a client who wants to print the approver's signature on a purchase order in GP.  I have not found this functionality within the product, but are there any third party products which do this ?

Thanks

you could a create a picture of the signatures and put it in the imagine store. Create a calculated field to determine which picture to print and then print that signature on the report.

I'm not sure what you mean by putting the signatures in a imagine store - are you referring to storing the signatures as pictures in Report Writer ?

    Leslie,

Do you have a sample of that calculated field?

    Thanks

    Hi Brenda,

The GP PO Workflow wasn't really meant to manage signatures at the bottom of the every PO, based on who approved the last any requisition in the system.

I've seen a customer that got around this limitation in a way more elegant fashion, by printing the PO's in PDF format and then opening them in Adobe Acrobat to digitally sign them. Every buyer in the department would have its own digitized signature image and Adobe would insert that into the PDF file, and also protect the PDF file against any tampering, making it a true 'digital' order file, that guarantees the file was not modified after it was signed.

Just by adding a signature image in the GP report will not give you that added security... aside of the fact that it requires quite some coding in Report Writer to get it working.

    Thank you for the update.

Not sure the client would like to use the Adobe solution.

I would be ok with doing some coding in Report Writer I would just need a bit if guidance on it.

Anything that you have on it would be appreciatd

    Thanks

    I see..

The problem with Calculated fields in GP Report Writer is that you cannot easily use dynamic values and you might have to hard code the multiple buyer ID's in the formula.

Here is another post that talks about conditional calculated fields in RW:

You need to treat a signature no different than a company logo field.. Check out David Musgrave 's blog post about the topic:
