ReportReport

Hello people,

I have setup the excel reports under other report. When I run those as 'sa' it is ok but when any of the user tries to run it, it gives the typical error of " select permission denied on the object ------------- dbo schema.

  1. I have granted local admin access to the users; to the folder where my reports are deployed.
  2. I have also granted the access to the role under SQL rpt-roles
  3. I have also run the script the GRANT

nothing works

I am using sql 2005, GP 10 SP4

appreciate your help

Are these users GP users or just other domain users.  If they are domain users you will need to set up access rights using SQL. You could jsut try running the GRANT.SQL script to see if that helps.

Try running SQL Profiler when acccessing them as 'sa' and see what tables it is actually hitting. Then go into SQL and check the permissions on those tables. I think it is hitting something unexpectedly.

Try making the user's domain account a member of the Database [rpt_power user] role.  The other rpt roles may not have the access to the data your fishing for.

The Grant script script just GRANT's access to everything in the database to DYNGRP.

The problem was that User windows account needs to be authenticated in SQL longins as well, over and above all other access rights like rpt , folder and access to DYNAMICS.

    It works now
