Euro Symbol Not Showing When Report Converted To PDF

ReportReport
Posted on by

Hello,

Normally euro symbol is visible on Ax report. But after i save it as PDF from print menu , euro symbol is missing on the pdf.

It's happening on just Euro symbol, not on other special characters.

Note: I wrote € symbol on word and converted it to PDF, and there is no problem on pdf. (To be sure pdf viewer program installed properly and fonts are installed)

Thanks

I am unsure how MorphX reports are handled for unicode characters, but in SSRS 2008 and above you have the unicode characters' fonts embedded in the PDF document. Maybe it is not supported in earlier version of AX correctly, or you could try to use a different PDF printer?

Also tried PDF (embed fonts) option, still same result. I use Adobe Reader XI, also i tried to open it with browser.

But pdf viewer showing € symbol when i create pdf from word document. So i don't think that's the problem.

It does not matter with what are you opening the PDF document once it is generated, if it does not support the code / font of the character you are using before/during the printout. The font embedding should happen during that process, before the file is saved. How do you generate the PDF file from the MorphX report?

I generate PDF file from the printer options of the standard MorphX report.

I do not think the older versions were embedding the fonts correctly. Try to install a PDF printer and select that as the Printer (and not the File selection) and see if you get different results!
