How to find all the contacts in our CRM

When I look at the contacts, I know we have in excess of 5000+ (don't know exactly how many, if I try to export them it never completes the task).

If I do a query on Active contacts, and Inactive contacts the total is about 1750 - so where are all the others?  There are therefore at least 3250 that are neither active nor inactive - how does that happened and where do I find them?

I have the same question (0)

    Hi Partner,

You could use Advanced Find to find all the contacts with your own filter conditions.

And please check if your conditions are only active and Inactive?

Please share more details about your query conditions.

    Best Regards,

    Hi JMGTaylor,

I would query the database using Advanced Find. If you start hitting the button New, you are sure there are no selection criteria whatever. Then you should get all records in the Contact entity.

RE: How to find all the contacts in our CRM

I have been using advanced find but something drops them out, I have found that some contacts now don't have an active or inactive status - ie. the field is blank, but the advanced find function wont allow me to search for these - if I do "not active" and are "not inactive" then nothing comes back BUT I know there are some in that manner.  Sadly the advanced find wont allow you to search for NULL, the "does not contain data" does not pick them up either so not sure how I can find them from 11000 contacts.

Would be nice if I could just export these 11000 contacts but that just hangs too.

Not sure how we ended up with contacts that are neither active nor inactive - suspect its legacy data from before we got MS CRM.

    Re Advanced find

Do not use Selection criteria but add the Status column instead.

    Re Export

How do you export before it hangs?

    Re legacy data

When you import data and the status column in your import file does not contain data, then the record is active by default. Therefore I do not understand how this problem occurred in the first place.

    Re add status

Maybe you could fill empy status fields by using a workflow. IF ContactStatus does not contain data, THEN Update Contact .....

    Hi,

You can use fetchXml Builer availble on XrmToolBox.

Please check if you get records with this query.
