Shamelessly stealing a line from The Dark Knight but I have to ask - am I the only one who thinks the UI in CRM 2013/2015 is boring and ugly?
I've been working with CRM since the 3.0 days and am currently running 2011. I've also been helping a customer with 2015 and am NOT impressed with the boring, white and pastel colored UI. It looks like peolpe at MS are trying too hard to force CRM to fit into the new WIndows 8 inspired boring block look.
I personally really like a screen full of color, where your eyes are more readily drawn to objects and entities that you work with. To me this seems much more intuitive than a boring UI that is mainly just black and white.
Additionally, since MS has kept a lot of the back end admin parts of CRM looking the way they did in 2011, even in 2015, I have to wonder what their logic was in not either going ALL in, and applying the new look globally, or not doing it at all. To me it's very confusing when you operate in a boring, top-oriented navigation UI as a user, then you have to shift gears and revert back to a colorful, left-oriented UI for admin duties. To me this makes no sense at all and it seems like the CRM dev team was forced to do this because of some ill-minded mandate that was shoved down from Redmond that all products have to look crappy.
There are some compelling new features in 2013/2015 but the UI is so bad that alone is holding me back from upgrading more quickly.
So since MS has destroyed the last 2 releases with this crummy new 'improved' look, i have to ask - am i the only user who feels this way?
And has anyone heard if MS will be coming to their senses in CRM 2016 and bringing back a more user-friendly, engaging and colorful UI?
