How to prepare my 2017 price list easily

Dear all,

This year we have handle our product with a single pricelist named 2016 Price List. Inside that price list we have more than 500 products which has been inserted. Each product are pointing to this 2016 Price List name as the default price list.

Note that having the default price list different than the actuall real price list makes users confused so that is the reason we set for all our product to point to default price list which is the current active one and single one.

Now we are preparing for setting up the 2017 Price list and we do not want to retype all 500 product into the new price list and set the default manually. It is an enormous work with potential errors.

What is the way to do that efficiently ?

regards

serge

    Hi Serge

What I would suggest is you export the Price List Items from your 2016 List and then update it with the name of the 2017 and reimport them (you can also change the prices in the XLS)

    Thanks mark,

I will give a try to what you sugest

I still have one question. In our price list we have 500 different products which are provided by different suppliers.

We have notice that by having a single priceList where we place evrything is not so easy to find out product in price list.

I was wondering if it would be simpler to get a price list by supplier ?

But then wierd thing I have been told is that when we create an opportunity, we need to switch each time to proper list to pick up product.

What is you recomendation based on your experience ?

    regards

    serge

I would say that price list should be customer based and not supplier based, Maybe if you enable more search criteria on the products it might make them easy to find (Product Name, Product Number & Description)

2 things I would do here

    1) Change your personal settings so that it displays 250 items in your view

    2) When exporting the data make sure that you select All Records on All Pages
